HANK W/R: Danny Amendola vs. Detroit W/R: Mike Williams vs. Carolina EVEN K: Garrett Hartley vs. Washington K: Stephen Gostkowski @ Tenn. EVEN DEF: Houston vs. Miami DEF: Chicago vs. Indianapolis AT
Notes: America's Team wins if.....Week 1 is always tough to predict but if Flacco keeps up his preseason stellar performances running Cam Cameron's new No-Huddle offense and flings the ball all over the field then I should get the rather easy win. Big boost for the Flacco to Rice or Flacco to Boldin receptions(if I decide to go with Boldin). It helps to be favored at both WR and RB positions. Flex is where I'm still undecided as to who to start--Boldin, Danny Amendola, David Wilson, Evan Royster, or possibly even Jonathon Dwyer or Kendall Wright. It's nice to have so many options...chalk that up to good drafting.
Hammerin Hank wins if....Eli has a field day on the new Cowboys secondary, Rob Gronkowski has a monster Gronkowski game, and McGahee/Hillis each score a rushing TD. Now all of that is quite possible yet unlikely.
IDP's: Seem to be about even or Hank might get the slight 5 pt edge overall.
X-Factors: AT--Jacob Tamme TE HH--Mike Williams WR
The Final Verdict is in: America's Team by 10
FINAL SCORE: AT 190.65 Little Hank 129.07. America's Team does it again....opens the year with a W and flirts with a 200 pt. total en route to a total blow-out victory. The largest margin of victory in all of Week 1. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Week 2: Waterboyz EDGE ATWATERBOYZ QB: Joe Flacco at Philly QB: Cam Newton vs NO WB WR: Wes Welker vs Ariz WR: Steve Smith vs NO EVEN WR: Eric Decker at Atl. NOTES: America's Teams wins if.....Wes Welker and Jason Witten get back on track and put up fantasy #'s like they are capable of producing. Flacco needs to continue his strong preseason and Week 1 play vs an opportunistic Philly defense. Doug Martin needs to find the endzone at least once.
Waterboyz wins if............Cam Newton and Steve Smith put up big #'s in a supposed track meet vs New Orleans. Adrian Peterson has a big game against a weak Indy run defense. Randy Moss plays like the Randy Moss of old. Philly disrupts the Baltimore No-Huddle Offense by creating turnovers.
IDP's: This week I have the edge. My team put up real strong #'s in week 1. Mayo, Lee, and Smith are shaping up to be 3 big-time LB's.
X-Factors: AT--Alfred Morris RB Waterboyz--Donald Brown RB
The Final Verdict is in: This one is real hard to call. Very even across the board. In the end I think the Cam Newton/Steve Smith/AP/AJ Green 4-Some is going to be tough to slow down as all are in very favorable match-ups in terms of producing strong fantasy #'s. Hard to pick against yourself but you also have to view things objectively...Waterboyz by 15.
FINAL SCORE: I had a 48 hour win only to get screwed by stat corrections. Waterboys 151.52 AT 150.79. A loss by .73 points. Only if I would have started Danny Amendola and his 15 catch 160 yards 1 TD 30 point performance. Not easy but on to next week. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Week 3: Montenga Jada
AT MJEDGE QB: Ben Roethlisberger at Oakland QB: Tony Romo vs Tampa EVEN WR: Eric Decker vs Houston WR: Percy Harvin vs San Francisco MJ WR: Danny Amendola at Chicago WR: Demaryius Thomas vs Houston AT RB: Ray Rice vs. Patriots RB: Darren Sproles vs KC AT RB: Doug Martin at Cowboys RB: CJ Spiller at Cleveland MJ TE: Jason Witten vs Tampa TE: Martellus Bennett at Carolina EVEN W/R: Alfred Morris vs. Bengals W/R: Ryan Matthews vs Atlanta MJ K: Greg "The Leg" Zuerlein at Chicago K: Alex Henery at Arizona AT DEF: Houston at Denver DEF: Green Bay at Seattle MJ
NOTES: America's Team wins if.....Danny Amendola continues to put up big numbers as Bradford's #1 target, Big Ben picks apart a week Oakland defense, and both Doug Martin and Alfred Morris find the endzone. Im debating whether or not to put Welker in the W/R spot in place of Morris. I think that Wes will be a focal point of the offense once again with Hernandez down and with the Pats struggling to move the ball/find the end zone. Game time decision.
Montenga Jada wins if.....Romo puts up big numbers in the Cowboys home opener against a Bucs secondary that was torched last week by the Giants, Sproles combines for 100+ all purpose yards, Spiller continues to run wild, and Matthews comes back strong after missing all of the preseason and the first two weeks of the season.
IDP's: Edge goes to MJ with Sean Lee and Bernard Pollard hurt for AT.
X-Factors: AT--Danny Amendola MJ--Ryan Matthews
The Final Verdict is in.....This is another tough divisional match-up in arguably the best overall division in the MHL. I think that Spiller, Sproles, Matthews, and Romo are going to put up close to 80 points just among those 4 guys. I desparately need a TD from my WR's...something Im missing so far this season. Possession guys are nice but you need TD's. This one is going to be a lot closer than the projected score but in the end I think that again I will come up a bit short just based on more favorable match-ups for MJ. Jada wins this one by 12.
FINAL SCORE: AT 189.78 MJ 127.89. Huge divisional win after coming off a devastating loss the week prior. After 3 weeks America's Team leads the league in scoring with 531 total points scored for an average of 177 points per week. ________________________________________________________________________________________________
Week 4: Soda Popinski
AT SPEDGE QB: Joe Flacco vs Clev. QB: Matt Stafford/Shaun Hill vs Minn. AT WR: Eric Decker vs Oak. WR:Vincent Jackson vs Wash. AT WR: Wes Welker at Buff. WR: Hakeem Nicks at Philly EVEN RB: Ray Rice vs Clev. RB: Marshawn Lynch at St. Louis AT RB: Doug Martin vs Wash. RB: Frank Gore at NYJ SP TE: Greg Olsen at Atl. TE: Jared Cook at Hou. EVEN W/R: Alfred Morris at TB W/R: Andre Brown at Philly SP K: Greg "The Leg" Zuerlein vs Sea. K: Jason Hanson vs Minn. EVEN DEF: Houston vs. Tenn DEF: NYG at Philly EVEN
NOTES: America's Team wins if.......Joe Flacco has a field day against a weak Cleveland secondary, Wes Welker continues to get targets from Brady, Doug Martin finds the end zone against Washington at home in Tampa, and Greg Olsen remains the security receiver for Cam Newton. Alfred Morris is penciled in right now at flex but I might swap him out because Tampa has a proven to be a pretty tough team to run the ball against so far in 2012. Game time decision.
SP wins if......Shaun Hill steps in for a banged up Matt Stafford and hits Calvin Johnson for multiple TD passes, Andre Brown continues to run wild, Marshawn Lynch run for 100+ against St.Louis, Vincent Jackson/Hakeem Nicks catch TD passes, and the NYG defense sacks and picks off Vick multiple times(which its very capable of doing).
IDP's: Right now my IDP's are really stepping up and performing admirably on a week to week basis. Look for that to continue this week. The addition of Cameron Wake is a big one. Edge goes to AT.
X-Factors: AT--Doug Martin vs. Wash. SP--Stafford/Hill vs Minn.
The Final Verdict is in.....Hopefully by Thursday night I will have gotten off to at least a 40 point lead. I think that Flacco and Rice will go crazy against a weak Cleveland team at home on national TV. Jackson, Lynch, Nicks, and Gore have gotten off to relatively slow starts for SP. This doesnt bode well when matched up against the highest scoring team in the league. Although, I think that the combo of Nicks, Brown, and NYG defense will put up some good numbers against Philly for SP but in the end I see myself winning this one by at least 15 points.
FINAL SCORE: AT 224.05 SP 131.38. Just as I thought--easy victory. Broke my all-time high scoring mark in the process. In addition, the 66.5 defensive player points represents the most points scored by IDP's in MHL history. I've been around long enough to know its only one game. On to next week.... _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Week 5: Mosi's Moose's
AT MMEDGE QB: Ben Roethelisberger vs Phil. QB: Drew Brees vs. San Diego MM WR: Eric Decker at NE WR: Andre Johnson at NYJ EVEN WR: Wes Welker vs Denver WR: Dwayne Bowe vs Balt. AT RB: Alfred Morris vs Atlanta RB: Ben Tate vs NYJ AT RB: Ray Rice at KC RB: Mark Ingram vs San Diego AT TE: Greg Olsen vs Sea. TE: Vernon Davis vs Buffalo MM W/R: DannyAmendola vs Ariz. W/R: Lance Moore vs San Diego AT K: Greg "The Leg" Zuerlein K: Mason Crosby at Indy. AT DEF: Texans at Jets DEF: Minn. vs Tenn. AT
America's Team wins if......Alfred Morris keeps up his cinderella season against Atlanta and finds the end zone, Wes Welker stays on track at home vs Denver, Ray Rice steps up and scores at least one TD, Danny Amendola continues to be a PPR stud, The Leg keeps hitting 50+ yard FG's, and Big Ben stays upright and turnover free. I know that the Texans will harass the Jets all game long on MNF.
Mosi wins if.......Brees goes off like he is capable of doing at home on Sunday night against a so-so San Diego secondary. Brees is capable of putting up 50+ pts all by himself. Moose is going to have to get a game like that from Brees to beat me. He has two solid WR's in Johnson and Bowe and a stud TE in Vernon Davis. His RB's are the weakness of the team. Tate is going to have to have a big game if Moose wants to win.
IDP's: What was supposed to be a team weakness has been a total strength for me so far. Its a bit tough this week with Sean Lee on a BYE but overall my IDP's are probably the best group in the MHL. Last week they set the all-time MHL scoring record by contributing 66.5 points as Cameron Wake led the way with 4.5 sacks.
X-Factors: AT--Greg Olsen vs Seattle MM--Lance Moore vs San Diego
The Final Verdict is in.....I think the momentum carries over from last week. I really like my chances this week. I think the Ravens will force feed Ray Rice and Big Ben should have another good game at home vs. Philly. Brees worries me a bit but I dont think Moose has enough weapons to pose a serious threat. Look for another 175+ pt. scoring performance as AT wins by 20.
FINAL SCORE: AT 165.46--MM 161.24. Justice prevails in this match-up. Losing Amendola and Polamalu after about 5 plays for each hurt but it was really Alfred Morris and Ray Rice failing to find the end zone that kept my score down. Otherwise that should have been a much larger and much easier victory. Big win as I stay at #1 overall with a 4-1 record and a league high 920 points scored through 5 weeks. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Week 6: Don Majkowski ATDM EDGE QB: Big Ben at Tenn QB: Kevin Kolb vs. Buff. AT WR: Eric Decker at SD WR: Brandon Lloyd at Sea. EVEN WR: Wes Welker at Sea. WR: Armon Binns at Clev. AT RB: Ray Rice vs. Dallas RB: LeSean McCoy vs Det. EVEN RB: Alfred Morris vs. Minn. RB: Daniel Thomas vs St Louis AT TE: Jason Witten at Balt. TE: Owen Daniels vs GB EVEN W/R: Doug Martin vs KC W/R: Ahmad Bradshaw at SF DM K: Greg "The Leg" Zuerlein at Miami K: Alex Henery vs Det. AT DEF: Houston vs Green Bay DEF: Atlanta vs Oak DM
NOTES: America's Team wins if.....Big Ben just has to throw for at least 2 TD's against a very weak Tennessee pass secondary on Thursday Night Football. Wes Welker is back to being the focal point...and rightly so. Many MHL GM's are kicking themselves for not accepting any of my multiple trade offers--however that is to be expected as NO ONE trades with AT. Not part of the Good Old Boys Club. Ray Rice needs to find the end zone as does Alfred Morris. Hopefully the bye week gave Schiano some time to shore up his offensive line so that explosive rookie RB Doug Martin can find some holes.
Don Majkowski wins if.....Kevin Kolb, LeSean McCoy, and Ahmad Bradshaw are going to have to have huge days if DM stands the slightest chance of pulling off the upset. Very interesting that DM was able to pull off a trade with Juvy to get Kevin Kolb in place of Cutler who has a BYE rather than having to go with the only QB left on waivers...Brady Quinn. There is a network folks. Atlanta's DEF. has a juicy match-up at home against an Oakland team that is turnover prone and should be playing from behind all game long. Lastly , Owen Daniels will need to find the end zone in a possible shoot-out with the Texans.
IDP's: Edge goes to AT here. Wake, Lee, Pollard, Mayo, Quinn...those guys are all stud IDP performers. Not many teams in the MHL can match up man for man vs AT's IDP's.
X-Factors: AT--Doug Martin vs KC DM--Armon Binns at Clev.
The Final Verdict is in.....this should be an easy week for America's Team as Don Majkowski just doesnt have the fire power to hang with a very talented AT squad. I think Big Ben will be good for 20 points and Ray Rice/Alfred Morris will each find the end zone this weekend. AT wins this match-up by at least 20 points...possibly more.
FINAL SCORE: AT 178.29 DM 147.52. The machine keeps rolling along. Just as predicted....an easy victory. Over 1,000 points scored after 6 weeks--possibly the fastest team to 1,000 in MHL History. 14 straight match-ups scoring 150+ points or more--an MHL record. Lets keep it going! ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Week 7: Brooklyn Raiders
AT BR EDGE QB: Big Ben @ Cincinnati QB: Josh Freeman vs NO AT WR: Wes Welker vs. NYJ WR: Antonio Brown @ Cincy AT WR: Anquan Boldin @ Houston WR: Dez Bryant @ Carolina BR RB: Ray Rice @ Houston RB: Arian Foster vs Balt. EVEN RB: Alfred Morris @ NYG RB: Mikel LeShoure @ Chicago AT TE: Jason Witten @ Carolina TE: Dennis Pitta @ Houston AT W/R: Doug Martin vs NO W/R: Brandon Gibson vs GB EVEN K: "Legatron" vs Green Bay K: Blair Walsh vs. Arizona AT DEF: Houston vs Balt. DEF: New England vs NYJ BR
America's Team wins if....many good match-ups this week for AT. Big Ben should carve up that weak Cincy secondary on Sunday Night Football. Welker is once again the stud PPR WR that he has always been. With Revis out look for Welker to remain a beast against the Jets. The 3-Headed Monster of Rice, Morris, and Martin should all have good games. Houston DEF doesnt look the same without Cushing but they shouldnt give up 42 any more like they did against Green Bay. Look for Legatron to possibly break the 63 yard FG record this Sunday at home vs GB. His 66 yard attempt last week at Miami was wide left due to wind but it would have been good from 80 yards out. He has that type of leg strength.
Brooklyn wins if.....I actually think Josh Freeman is going to have a decent game against the Saints due to the simple fact that they should be playing from behind for most of the game. This will lead to many passing attempts, yardage, and a junk TD or two. Dez Bryant has to have a big game for BR against a weak Carolina secondary. Arian Foster will feast on a weak Baltimore run defense now without Ray Lewis. I can see Foster scoring 30 pts himself. LeShoure, Pitta, and Gibson are average at best. They all need to have big games if BR stands any chance of winning this match-up. I like the Pats DEF against the Jets for the simple reason that they should get a two TD lead forcing the Jets to throw....and we know what happens when you have to rely on the two-some of Sanchez/Tebow vs a Belichick DEF.
IDP's: Brooklyn is one of the rare teams that match-up versus the IDP's of AT. Mathews, Pierre-Paul, Tuck, Landry/Clark are all capable of scoring some points for BR. I call this comparison even.
X-Factors: AT--Anquan Boldin @ Houston BR--Josh Freeman vs. New Orleans
The Final Verdict is in.....this is a huge divisional showdown and the MHL Game of the Week. The winner will be sitting pretty atop the Western Division. I really like my chances this week. If Big Ben, Rice, and Welker put up 60 point between the three of them---and I think they will---I will win this match-up. I hope to have this wrapped up after the 4pm games with Big Ben being the icing on the cake on Sunday Night. America's Team wins this match-up 170--155.
FINAL SCORE: AT 175.19 BR 170.18. HUGE WIN! Once I was up 18 going into MNF with BR having Mikel LeShoure still in play I knew it was all over but the crying. LeShoure is really only a 1st and 2nd down back and that game wasnt the exception. Another week...another win....another score over 150 points. The hell with 150 points, Ive scored over 175 in 5 of the first 7 match-ups. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Week 8: Montenga Jada
AT MJ EDGE QB: Big Ben vs Washington QB: Tony Romo vs NYG EVEN WR: Wes Welker vs St.Louis (In London) WR: Percy Harvin vs Tampa Bay EVEN WR: Eric Decker vs New Orleans WR: Demaryius Thomas vs New Orleans EVEN RB: Alfred Morris @ Pitt. RB: Darren Sproles @ Denver EVEN RB: Doug Martin @ Minnesota RB: Ryan Mathews @ Cleveland AT TE: Jason Witten vs NYG TE: Kyle Rudolph vs Tampa Bay AT W/R: Chris Givens vs New England W/R: Randall Cobb vs Jacksonville MJ K: "Legatron" vs New England K: Lawrence Tynes @ Dallas AT DEF: Raiders @ Kansas City DEF: Green Bay vs. Jacksonville MJ
America's Team wins if.....the server for the website was down yesterday thus this report is one day late. With that being said--Doug Martin absolutely went off last night on Thursday Night Football putting up 32 points! That performance was why I drafted him in the 3rd round. Seems like the Tampa staff woke up over the BYE week and realized that this kid is special and "Ray Rice like". He is now a Top 5 RB going forward if he continues to stay on the field for 3 downs and receive the goal line carries. Big Ben might struggle if Hurricane Sandy brings a snowstorm to Western Penn. as predicted. Welker and Decker need to each score a TD, Alfred Morris needs to keep running hard, Witten should be on the end of a few Romo passes although that really is a wash since MJ has Romo as his QB, Raiders DEF. needs to pick off and sack Brady Quinn a few times. Chris Givens has the potential to be a sneaky pick-up since the Rams should be playing from behind frequently and the Patriots secondary cant stop a nose-bleed.
MJ wins if.....Tony Romo has a big game vs the Giants, Darren Sproles and Mathews play up to their potential, Randall Cobb finds the end zone as the new #1 WR in Green Bay with Jennings and Nelson banged up, Demaryius Thomas lights up a weak Saints secondary, and Green Bay DEF scored a TD versus the horrific offense of the Jaguars playing without both Blaine Gabbert and MJD.
IDP's: Losing Sean Lee was devastating yet Bruce Carter will be the new defensive signal caller in Dallas and be on the field for all 3 downs. In addition, I get Sean Weatherspoon and Cameron Wake off their bye weeks. Edge goes to America's Team.
X-Factors: AT--Chris Givens vs New England MJ--Darren Sproles @ Denver
The Final Verdict is in.......before the Thursday night game I would have favored MJ. However, after the huge performance from Doug Martin and the average combined scoring of MJ's Percy Harvin, Kyle Rudolph, and Lavonte David--I like my chances. This wont be easy though as MJ has some very explosive players all in favorable situations. I think whichever Denver receiver has a better game: Demaryius Thomas or Eric Decker...decides this match-up. Im looking at another close one like last week's match-up. The West Division is far, far superior to any division in the MHL--this is like a title game. Here goes---America's Team 170 MJ 165.
FINAL SCORE: AT 178.00 MJ 176.43. Absolutely crushing blow to not only Jada's chance at Western Division Title but also at making the playoffs. My Final Verdict was dead-on(read above) as the game came down to Decker vs. Thomas on MNF. Honestly, this was probably one of my worst weeks of the season in terms of player peformance...Welker, Morris, and Zuerlein all grossly underperformed and the last minute change picking up the woeful Philly DEF and starting them almost bit me in the ass. Victory was snatched from the jaws of defeat. Nevertheless, this 2012 version of America's Team is scary good! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Week 9: Oakland Dirty Dawgs
AT ODD EDGE QB: Big Ben @ NYG QB: Russell Wilson vs Minny. AT WR: Eric Decker @ Cincy WR: Julio Jones vs Dallas EVEN WR: Anquan Boldin @ Cleveland WR: Torrey Smith @ Cleveland ODD RB: Ray Rice @ Cleveland RB: Trent Richardson vs Baltimore AT RB: Alfred Morris vs. Carolina RB: Felix Jones @ Atlanta AT TE: Jason Witten @ Atlanta TE: Logan Paulsen vs. Carolina AT W/R: Doug Martin @ Oakland W/R: Alex Green vs. Arizona AT K: Justin Tucker @ Cleveland K: Matt Prater @ Cincy EVEN DEF: Houston vs. Buffalo DEF: TBD AT
America's Team wins if.....my guys play up to their capabilities. Plain and simple. This is a huge mismatch without Brady and with DeMarco Murray hurt. I think Ray Rice has a big game as Baltimore realizes that for them to have the best chance of winning he has to have the ball, not Flacco. The Morris/Martin combo will produce and Big Ben will have his chances against a very suspect Giants defense. Finally, the Houston DEF is licking their chops with Buffalo coming to town.
Oakland Dawgs win if.....Russell Wilson has to have a HUGE game for ODD to have a chance at the upset. He does have some weapons with Julio Jones, Torrey Smith, and Trent Richardson. The fringe guys on his roster have to all have big games---Logan Paulsen, Felix Jones, and Alex Green. Without Brady ODD is just another team.
IDP's: Without Sean Weatherspoon, Sean Lee, and Jerod Mayo I'm not at full strength. I think that Herzlich will have a big game vs Pitt. as several Giants LB's are out this Sunday. With that being said ODD has some playmakers in Von Miller, JJ Watt, Antoine Winfield, and John Abraham. Slight edge goes to ODD this week.
X-Factors: AT--Anquan Boldin @ Cleveland ODD--Alex Green vs Arizona
The Final Verdict is in.....on paper this looks like a huge mismatch however we all know that fantasy football doesnt follow any sort of rule. What happens, happens and this week the AT train rolls hard letting off much steam. Dont think that America's Team hasnt forgotten who knocked him out of the Semi's of last year's playoffs. This week and next week against the Little Show are like scrimmages. So far the results have either been real close or have been blow-outs. This match-up follows the trend. America's Team 170 ODD 135
FINAL SCORE: AT 196.74 ODD 147.72. This one went according to script. Doug Martin absolutely blew up for the second straight week with 54 points alone. ODD without Brady just didnt have the fire power to compete although Russell Wilson gave a nice effort with 31 points. ODD suffers a devastating blow to his post-season hopes. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Week 10: Big Show
AT B.S.EDGE QB: Big Ben vs. KC QB: Alex Smith vs. St. Louis AT WR: Wes Welker vs Buffalo WR: Kenny Britt @ Miami AT WR: Eric Decker @ Carolina WR: Michael Crabtree vs. St. Louis AT RB: Ray Rice vs. Oakland RB: LeSean McCoy vs. Dallas EVEN RB: Doug Martin vs San Diego RB: Stevan Ridley vs. Buffalo AT TE: Jason Witten @ Philly TE: Heath Miller vs. KC EVEN W/R: Danny Amendola @ S.F. W/R: Jonathan Stewart vs. Denver B.S. K: Justin Tucker vs. Oakland K: Connor Barth vs. San Diego EVEN DEF: Houston @ Chicago DEF: Cincinnati vs. NYG AT
America's Team wins if.....everyone plays to their potential. Many juicy match-ups such as Big Ben going against the horrific KC defense, Rice going against the Oakland defense, and the Welker/Decker combo both in favorable match-ups. Big Ben is quietly putting up an MVP type season. No one in the MHL has the plethora of RB's that I have led by Rice and Martin. This team is built to advance far into the playoffs with depth all around.
B.S. wins if.....believe it or not I actually think this team that B.S. will put up against me this week is decent and actually one of his better teams in years. Of course the Good Old Boys network kicked in and gave B.S. a WR to use but besides that he has some quality players led by McCoy, Ridley, Stewart, and Britt. I think the Cortland Finnegan for St. Louis shadows Crabtree all over the field and shuts him down and the 49ers pound the running game and get ahead vs the Rams leading to an average point total for Alex Smith.
IDP's: Nice to have Mayo back to go along with The Beast...Bruce Carter, Cameron Wake, Collin McCarthy, and Bernard Pollard. The pick-up of Javier Arenas was huge. He will be tested often against the Steelers leading to tackle opportunities to top it off he returns punts and kicks so gets a few points there. AT gets the edge this week on IDP's.
The Final Verdict is in......this is a game that I circle on my schedule each year that we play. This guy tried to get me kicked out of the MHL. Is this game personal? You bet your ass it is. The problem is that B.S. rarely fields a competitive team. If anyone should be kicked out of the MHL its him....for overall lack of performance over the years if nothing else. With all that off my chest, I think this one is closer than people think. Earlier in the year I predicted a 50 pt. win but now Im leaning towards a final of.... America's Team 168 Big Show 147
FINAL SCORE: AT 149.76--BS 169.52. I tipped my hand a bit here on americas-team.com by hinting to Butler that he should bench Smith and go with Fitzpatrick. Well now I know that he visits the site because he did just that and it more than likely led to the win as Alex Smith got knocked out of the game early. Every once and awhile the sun shines on a dog's ass and thats what happened this week for B.S. This match-up was his Super Bowl while for America's Team it was a tune-up for what hopefully amounts to a championship run. Although a rivalry game this game didnt mean much as Brooklyn lost last week as well. Losing Big Ben was devastating and it will be tough going forward without him as it looks as though he will be out for the year. No excuses...Next man up! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Week 11: Waterboyz
ATWB EDGE QB: Joe Flacco @ Pittsburgh QB: Cam Newton vs. TB WB WR: Wes Welker vs Indy. WR: Steve Smith vs. TB EVEN WR: Eric Decker vs. San Diego WR: AJ Green @ KC WB RB: Ray Rice @ Pittsburgh RB: Danny Woodhead vs Indy AT RB: Doug Martin @ Carolina RB: Donald Brown @ New England AT TE: Jason Witten vs. Cleveland TE: Tony Gonzalez vs Arizona EVEN W/R: Alfred Morris vs Philly W/R: TBD AT K: Legatron vs NYJ K: Shayne Graham vs. Jax AT DEF: Houston vs. Jacksonville DEF: Baltimore @ Pitt. AT
America's Team wins if.....Joe Flacco has to play adequately. He is capable of the occasional 40 point game like last week but also the 3 point week. I need him to get me at least 20 points. If he does this match-up should be all but over. This is a tough week to have to call on Flacco as he is on the road vs Pittsburgh in primetime. Flacco is actually a very good QB when he plays in Baltimore. I think you will see a healthy dose of Ray Rice which should translate to good numbers although Rice hasnt really had a dominate scoring week all season long. Welker and Decker need to remain PPR beasts and hopefully find the end zone. Dougie should tear up that Panthers defense, Witten remains Romo's check-down guy and Im hoping the BYE week allowed Shanahan ways to lean more on Alfred Morris. Going forward its going to be a mix and match situation with either Morris or Danny Amendola at the W/R position. Not a bad situation to be in! Houston will absolutely feast on the Jaguars and Blaine Gabbert...I think a defensive TD is not out of reach.
Waterboyz wins if....Flacco lays an egg and Cam Newton goes crazy. Newton has been a bust so far this season and he doesnt seem to be on the same page with Steve Smith although the Tampa secondary is weak. AJ Green should light up the KC defense for something along the lines of 8 catches, 125 yards, and 1 TD. With AP on a BYE Waterboyz is very weak at the RB position. Tony Gonzalez is Mr. Reliable and should be a steady contributor.
IDP's: The pick-up of Rob Ninkovich was a great move as he looks fast and puts up solid #'s out of his hybrid DE/OLB position. Mayo, Carter, Pollard, and Wake all should have good games. Hopefully I can get Sean Weatherspoon back healthy and contributing as he is one of the top LB's in the NFL. Waterboyz counters with James Anderson, David Harris, Justin Houston, Quentin Jammer etc. Edge goes to AT this week @ the IDP spots.
X-Factors: AT--Joe Flacco @ Pitt. WB--Danny Woodhead vs. Indy
The Final Verdict is in.....this week America's Team will bounce back and possibly even clinch the Western Division title if Jada knocks off Brooklyn. My team is just too deep for the Waterboyz to remain competitive. If he had AP going Id give him a shot but without AP he is going to have to rely on Donald Brown, Woodhead, and whomever he chooses at W/R. I feel that Flacco will do just enough for me to get by without Big Ben. America's Team 160 Waterboyz 140
THE STAFF AT AMERICAS-TEAM.COM HAS BEEN GIVEN THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY OFF TO ENJOY WITH THEIR FAMILIES. WRITE-UPS WILL RESUME FOR WEEK 13.
Since We've Been Away....2 more wins.
AT 132.06 Waterboyz 118.58 AT 179.15 Wowboyz 121.50.
The record stands at 10-2, #1 ranking, Western Division Champion, and 1st in total points scored with a whopping 2109.92 thru 12 games. Once again...America's Team has his eyes set clearly on the MHL title. His GM skills are "genius-like". Big Ben went down and he scoops up Colin Kaepernick who seems to have been awarded the starting QB position in San Francisco. Colin possesses a skill set between that of Randall Cunningham and RGIII. The rich got richer with that move.

Amercia's Team wins if....the acquisition of Colin Kaepernick was huge as this kid doesnt seem to be intimidated or ill equipped by the bright lights. Look for him to win many, many games in the NFL. RIP Alex Smith. If he puts up 25+ points from here on out AT will not be beaten and will be the MHL Champion. You heard it hear first. The rest of the lineup is explosive and will do their part. I think Decker will light up the Tampa secondary and Wes Welker always seems to like to go down to his former team in Miami and play big. Rice/Morris will probably be held in check by the Pittsburgh/NYG DEF but each should be good for at least 75 rushing yards. Dougie should have no problem against Denver and Witten should find open seams all game long against the Iggles and their Dream Team, lol. NJY DEF was a sneaky pick-up as they play at home against the Cardinals 3rd string QB in Ryan Lindley...the kid is a turnover machine and shouldnt even be on the field.
Brooklyn wins if.....Peyton Manning goes crazy against a weak Tampa secondary--which is very likely. Arian Foster is also capable of putting up huge #'s and Dez Bryant is boom or bust lately. Brooklyn has some fire-power, no doubt. The problem is the depth. Michael Turner has clearly lost a step and game time to Quizz Rodgers, LeShoure is a journeyman at best, and Antonio Brown is coming off a mutiple week absence due to a high ankle sprain.
IDP's: AT is led by the recent additions of Rob Ninkovich and brothers Dawan and LaRon Landry. Both hard hitters who get plenty of tackles. The loss of another LB.....this time Bruce Carter, hurts but getting back Sean Weatherspoon to play alongside Jerod Mayo is a definite plus. BR counters with Pierre-Paul, Tuck, DeAngelo Hall, JoLonn Dunbar, and Ray Maulauga. Slight edge to AT this week in terms of IDP.
X-Factors: AT--Colin Kaepernick @ St. Louis BR--Michael Turner vs. New Orleans
The Final Verdict is in.....look for Colin Kaepernick to get more and more comfortable in the Jim Harbaugh offense. This week he gets to play indoors against a St. Louis team that has an average defense. I think Colin has a nice day and gets at least one passing TD and one rushing TD. Manning, Foster, and Dez are the backbone of the Raiders team. Each will have a very good game and between the three will probably put up 75 points. The rest of the team however will not do enough for Brooklyn. This game really is a preview of Round 2 of the MHL playoffs....the match-up that matters way more but nevertheless: America's Team 170 Brooklyn 155
